Workshops & Side Events

The APSRC is hosting a number of workshops and side events – that are free to conference delegates.

The International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems (PVPS) & Solar Heating and Cooling (SHC) workshop will provide valuable insights to anyone wishing to participate in international collaborative research Tasks under the IEA and anyone wishing to utilise the results of these collaborative Tasks. The work of both the IEA SHC and PVPS programmes will be outlined as well as other opportunities arising from the Mission Innovation Challenges arising from the Paris Agreement  and the 100% Renewables Target of the International Solar Energy Society. The second half of the workshop will provide results of specific Tasks delivered by the programmes. Note that there will be other presentations throughout the conference based on work completed within Tasks overseen by these two Programmes.

CEEM Tariff Tool

In this workshop the CEEM Tariff Tool will be demonstrated. There will be presentations from a number of stakeholders and an open discussion of the characteristics and applications of the Tool. More information on the Tariff Tool can be found here.

Promoting the Use of Solar Cooling and Heating in Australian Buildings. Register now to attend these free workshops and hear from two international experts from the international solar community. The workshops provide an opportunity to look at some of the global initiatives that could be adapted to Australian market conditions. Activities coordinated through the International Energy Agency Solar Heating and Cooling Program (IEA SHC) will be discussed. More information can be found here.

ARENA workshop

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency is holding a workshop on ‘Bridging the Gap: ARENA’s Role in Bringing Innovative PV Tech to Market, and is looking to engage with researchers who have an interest in taking their research the next step along the road to commercialisation, or those who are currently on that pathway.  We are seeking views on how ARENA can best support the research sector to improve the translation of early-stage R&D, particularly around the types of activities it could fund and how these could be prioritised.
